Privacy Policy for Lunefeed

Last updated: October 18, 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Lunefeed ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use our RSS reader for Mac, iPhone and iPad. Lunefeed has no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no third-party SDKs. The only personal data it handles is what you choose to post on the optional in-app feedback board.

Your Feeds and Reading

  • On your device: Your subscriptions, articles, folders and read and starred status are stored only on your device. We never receive them.
  • Network requests: Lunefeed contacts only the feed and web addresses you add, plus the web pages you open from them. Reader mode fetches the article and extracts it on your device; no extraction service is used.
  • YouTube: For YouTube entries, Lunefeed loads YouTube's official embedded player, which is subject to YouTube's own privacy policy.
  • Sync services (optional): If you sign in to a third-party sync service, such as Feedbin, NewsBlur or FreshRSS, your credentials are kept in your device's Keychain, and your data is exchanged only with that service, under its own privacy policy.

Feedback Board (Optional)

Lunefeed includes a feedback board (Settings → Feedback on iPhone and iPad, Help → Feedback on Mac). Using it is entirely optional. Reading and posting need no account. If you use it, the following is collected, only to run the board, and is linked to your identity on the board:

  • Name: The display name your posts appear under. If you sign in with Apple, only your name is requested; your email address is never asked for or stored
  • User ID: Your Sign in with Apple user identifier (or an anonymous guest identifier), so your posts, votes and closes belong to you
  • Other User Content: The suggestions, comments, Beta Chat messages and votes you post
  • Photos or Videos: A screenshot you choose to attach to feedback, or a photo you send in Beta Chat
  • Other Diagnostic Data: Device information (device model, system version, app version and build number) attached to new feedback; you can turn this off in the New Feedback form

This data is used only for app functionality. It is not used for tracking, advertising or analytics, and it is not sold.

How the Feedback Board Stores Data

Feedback is stored in the public database of Apple's iCloud container iCloud.com.DrDevDaddy.Community, which is shared by our family of apps:

  • Public feedback: Feedback items, comments and the display name they were posted under are publicly readable by other people using the board
  • Screenshots: A screenshot attached to feedback can be seen only by you and the team; others see only that one is attached
  • Beta Chat: Beta Chat is only for TestFlight beta testers and the team; its messages and photos are visible only to them
  • Reports: You can report any item or message and block its author; a report is seen only by you and the team
  • Edit history: When you edit a feedback item, its earlier title and description stay in the item's public history
  • Deleting feedback the team worked on: If you delete a feedback item the team has already started on (it has a status, a plan or a shipped version), or delete your account, your personal data is removed: your name and user ID, device details, screenshot, logs, and the words you wrote. In its place the team keeps a short anonymous record, written by the team and not by you: "Request by a deleted user", a one-line summary in the team's words, the item's tag, its status history and the version that shipped it. It contains no personal data and no hashed or pseudonymous ID. We keep it so the public record of what changed in the app and why stays complete (legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Items no one has worked on are deleted completely
  • Logs and screenshots: Used only as evidence for a report; only you and the team can export an item's logs

This data is stored in Apple's iCloud infrastructure, subject to Apple's privacy policies and security measures.

Information We Don't Collect

We want to be clear about what we don't do:

  • We do not use analytics or tracking services
  • We do not include third-party SDKs
  • We do not upload crash reports; crash reporting is off (Apple may collect crash reports through TestFlight and the App Store if you allow it on your device)
  • We do not store your email address
  • We do not sell or share your data with advertisers
  • We do not receive your subscriptions or reading history

Third-Party Services

Lunefeed integrates with the following services:

  • Sign in with Apple: Optional, for voting and closing items on the feedback board; it shares only your name
  • iCloud/CloudKit: For storing the feedback board (Lunefeed does not sync your feeds through iCloud)
  • Feed sync services: Only if you sign in to one yourself, as described above
  • YouTube: Its embedded player, for YouTube entries

Your Rights (GDPR)

You have full control over your data:

  • Access: Everything you posted is visible on the feedback board in the app
  • Local data: Your feeds and reading data stay on your device; deleting the app removes them
  • Account Deletion: Delete My Feedback & Account, in the board's Account screen, deletes everything you wrote on the board: your feedback items with their screenshots, comments, Beta Chat messages with their photos, votes and closes. Feedback the team has already worked on stays only as an anonymous team-written summary, as described above. It also revokes Lunefeed's Sign in with Apple access. Revocation goes through a small service on this website, which passes a one-time Apple code to Apple and stores and logs nothing

Children's Privacy

Lunefeed is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us to have it removed.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
